Penn Kemp served as London’s inaugural Poet Laureate. An ideas person, Penn helped shape the position in its early days, dreaming up new ways to promote the Poet Laureate position and to extend the recognition of poetry and the arts in London.

As Poet Laureate, Penn Kemp curated Poetry in Motion, a community engagement project that involved publishing poems from London’s emerging and established poets on bus cards inside over 100 London Transit Commission buses on routes across the city.
