Artists in Practice Workshop Series is a targeted initiative designed to support emerging and mid-career visual artists in London and surrounding First Nations communities, including Oneida Nation of the Thames, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, and Munsee Delaware Nation.
Developed in response to direct feedback from local artists, the program strengthens pathways to specialized, culturally relevant professional development opportunities for artists. This workshop series equips artists with practical tools and current knowledge needed to build sustainable careers in the arts.
There will be three cycles in this workshop series. Each cycle consists of 10 workshops, and participants will be expected to attend all 10 workshops if their participation request is accepted.
Workshops will take place on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fanshawe College’s Downtown Campus (130 Dundas Street, London).
The 3 cycles are scheduled as follows:
Cycle 1: April 30 – July 2
Cycle 2: July 9 – September 10
Cycle 3: September 17 – November 19
Please note: A two-way bus service will be provided from Oneida First Nation for eligible participants. Please mark the relevant box on the form below if you would like more information on this service.
This program is funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Seed Grant. The London Arts Council would like to thank OTF for their continued program support.
