| We often think of random as something without purpose or aesthetic appeal. This summer's ARSG show, titled Random Acts of Art, is exactly the opposite. It houses many pieces which highlight the beautiful functions of randomness. Such things as the rolling shapes of sandy hills, pockets of colourful weeds amongst grassy fields and colourful mounds of pebbeled land happily fill the canvases on the walls of the ARSG. Fuchsia, turquoise and carrot orange make their way into some of the pieces, resulting in a show that is as energetic and full of life as this sunny summer we find ourselves in now. Finally, this show suggests we look at random in a different light. It is an example of how sometimes the most unplanned, unstructured things result in the most harmonious compositions. |
