| The Amazing Tree Quest is a city-wide contest to celebrate the important role that trees play in our lives. London is proud to be the Forest City, and our city is full of amazing trees. The contest allows individual Londoners (or anyone from anywhere) to nominate trees located in London, Ontario.
Do you have a favourite tree in London? A tree that towers above the rest, survives against the odds, tells a great story, or inspired you to create a piece of art with a tree as the subject matter? From now until July 31, join ReForest London in the quest to find London's most amazing trees. Be sure to have your camera or paintbrush ready this spring and summer to nominate your amazing trees. Prizes will be awarded in eight categories.
New this year, Tree Inspired Art: Trees inspire many artist with their form, colour, texture, and beauty. Share your tree art with London. We are looking for visual art that has been inspired by a London tree. Scan or photograph your work and post it along with your story. We welcome submissions from professional and non-professional artists, and these categories will be judged separately.ReForest London and the London Arts Council have partnered together to showcase trees and art in the City of London. As part of the Amazing Tree Quest 2010, professional artists residing in the city of London are invited to submit images for the Tree Inspired Art Category. One work will be selected via a juried process to be purchased by the London Arts Council for an amount up to $500. The selected piece will be on display at the Amazing Tree Quest reception, and will be shown in the London Arts Council office for the launch of Culture Days, September 24- 26th, 2010.
