Throughout the year, the City of London honours individuals, organizations, and businesses for innovative contributions to our arts and culture community. The London Arts Council aims to increase awareness of and celebrate the excellence in the arts in London.
Each year, many active members of the London community are nominated in specific categories, as a means of recognizing the diversity of philanthropic work taking place in The Forest City. The nomination process is handled through the City of London's Advisory Committees with established criteria in place. Once the winners in each category are determined, the recipients are honoured at the first City Council meet of the New Year.
Individuals may only appear on the Mayor's New Year's Honours List once in his/her lifetime.

Darlene Pratt: Arts Award Recipient 2010 Darlene Pratt has, for the last eight years, led a committee of the London Potters Guild that has brought into being the new London Clay Art Centre at 664 Dundas Street in Old East Village. The nominee has been instrumental in the planning, fund raising, searching for and finding a suitable building, negotiating the purchase, and working with municipal officials, the Old East Village Community Association, and the design-build company in the planning and implementation of the myriad details involved in turning an 1890s Victorian building into a state-of-the-art facility for clay art. Congratulations to Darlene for her selection of the 2010 Mayor's New Year's Honours List Arts Award.
